Be the Change

Be the Change

Engaging the public in a vigorous dialogue on new and emerging collective art practices, the CalArts Community Arts Partnership (CAP) convenes a panel of artists and organizers whose work is marked by dynamic action out in the world and by a commitment to embodying the change they strive to realize. The panelists--poet and educator Mark Gonzalez, artist Suzanne Lacy, curator and arts administrator Adolfo V. Nodal, and the art-activist group Beehive Collective--each give a presentation on current projects and touch on various strategies rooted in models of social activism, public art, community organizing, education, and policymaking. Following these presentations is an open discussion session with the audience.
