CalArts performance students from the piano and the guitar programs perform short works for solo guitar, solo piano, and those instruments in ensemble. Most of the works for guitar are original compositions by the students in jazz, flamenco, and Brazilian styles, including a work for Warr guitar (with an electric bass and electric 6-string on the same neck). Traditional flamenco works by Agustín Barrios Mangoré, a little-known virtuoso once called "the greatest guitarist/composer of the first half of the present century" will also be performed.

Piano works to be performed include works by many of the essential composers of the twentieth century, including John Cage, Alois Hába, Kaija Saariaho, a theatrical work by George Crumb, three songs by Charles Ives, and the demanding Fuga from Samuel Barber's Sonata for Piano and Allegro from Henryk Górecki's Sonata for Piano, op 6.

Guitarists featured are: Hugo Aguayo, Tizoc Shuru Estrada, Chris Fossek, Nick Kello, Kai Kurosawa, Joel Peloquin

Pianists featured are: Areni Agbabian, Kasey Bindra, Kathryn Clark, Traci Esslinger, Gary Fukushima, Adam Hostomsky, Dzovig Markarian, Hiromi Maruyama, Steve Sadono, Stewart Uyeda
