REDCAT's 15th Season: Vital Artists at a Crucial Time

REDCAT’s 15th Season: Vital Artists at a Crucial Time

REDCAT launched 2018 with a bang: a bold international festival of performances by some 200 Latin American and Latino artists at sites throughout the city. And now we invite you to join us at our home in the Walt Disney Concert Hall complex for a winter/ spring season that continues to focus on vital artists who inspire us and confront the issues of our time.

Artists from around the world are using our theater and gallery as laboratories to probe urgent issues and introduce new forms. From a stunning new work by director, choreographer and writer Okwui Okpokwasili, to an important U.S. premiere by Argentinian choreographer Diana Szeinblum, to a powerful theatrical epic by New York pioneers The Wooster Group – this is a season of consequence. The gallery focuses on the work of influential California artist Dave Hullfish Bailey and emerging Mexico City artist Jorge Satorre. Music events feature masters such as Morton SubotnickEve Beglarian and David Rosenboom, as well as young composers and instrumentalists breaking new ground. Film and video innovators from around the world, and from Los Angeles, premiere a wide range of experimental short films, features and multimedia adventures.

This is a time of celebration, joyous resistance and determined experimentation. We hope you will be a part of it.

The Steven D. Lavine Executive Director of REDCAT
