SUPER VISION

SUPER VISION:
THE BUILDERS ASSOCIATION & DBOX

"A work of theatrical alchemy in which ideas are turned into art by making them more beautiful." The Wall Street Journal

Los Angeles premiere

An intoxicating crossmedia examination of life in the post-privacy era from The Builders Association, the experimental New York company that puts new technology to stunningly visceral use in live theater. Created in collaboration with dbox, a 3-D animation and design studio, Super Vision is a triptych of stories about the loss of self in a world where prying eyes are only a few computer clicks away from credit card numbers, e-mail messages and medical records -- entire lives reduced to streams of data. The dazzling production, directed by “new media magician” Marianne Weems, offers a masterful integration of computer animation, video, electronic music, and finely calibrated performances by the cast of seven actors.

Lead co-producer: Wexner Center for the Arts in association with the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design at The Ohio State University. Co-producers: the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, with additional support for final technical development; Montclair State University: Office of Arts & Cultural Programming; Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, UC Davis; Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008; New Zealand International Arts Festival; and BAM Next Wave Festival.
