REDCAT Appoints Talia Heiman as Assistant Curator

We’re excited to announce REDCAT has appointed Talia Heiman as its new Assistant Curator. 

In her new role, she will work with Daniela Lieja Quintanar, Chief Curator and Deputy Director, Programs, on REDCAT’s participation in PST Art: Art & Science Collide next fall and forthcoming exhibitions.  

Heiman returns to Los Angeles from Pittsburgh, where she served on the curatorial team of Is it morning for you yet?, the 58th Carnegie International. There she led and supported the development of nearly 40 new commissions by artists from Central America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and more, secured 350 loans from private and institutional collections, and contributed to and coordinated production of the exhibition catalog. She has previously held curatorial and programming positions at ICA Philadelphia, Artis, CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo, MoMA, and Artists Space. She has independently curated exhibitions, screenings, and performances at Bel Ami, AA | LA Gallery, Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, the Hessel Museum of Art, Kadist Foundation, and the Kitchen. Her writing has appeared in the catalogs for the 58th and 57th Carnegie Internationals, COLA 2020, and in magazines such as BOMB Magazine and Art21. She holds an MA from the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College and a BA from New York University, where she studied Art History and Gender, Sex, and Sexuality Studies.
