REDCAT presents two concerts with Wild Up as part of Democracy Sessions on October 10th and 11th. Developed by Wild Up in partnership with MOCA, REDCAT, and CalArts, Democracy Sessions is an expanded festival of music and performance taking place across Los Angeles. Democracy Sessions asks how art can function as a democratic practice—a means of gathering, listening, speaking, and acting together. 
 
The evening of music on October 10 features works by Sofia Gubaidulina, Gabriella Smith, Luigi Nono, and Louis Andriessen. On October 11, Wild Up musicians, CalArts students, and The Collective Orchestra, an open-invitation community ensemble, perform the the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by Shelley Washington.
