**A Special Secret Show for CalArts Students and Alumni**

Join international touring comedian Atsuko Okatsuka (MFA Film/Video-Critical Studies 15) for a one-night-only talk at her alma mater, California Institute of Arts, where she revisits her art school days and pontificates on where she fits in the art world as a standup comedian. Is stand-up comedy “art”? Discussion and Q&A to follow moderated by Critical Studies faculty, Chris Santiago.

CalArts students and alumni can access tickets via a code entered into the ticketing section.

Attendees to Atsuko Okatsuka may not enter the theater until they sign a mandatory waiver in person upon arrival that acknowledges their understanding that the performance is being filmed.

 

Stand-By Line Policy

For sold-out performances, a stand-by line will be available beginning up to two hours before showtime. Any unclaimed or released tickets will be offered to those in line on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability is not guaranteed, and all tickets will be sold at standard pricing. Patrons must be present in line when tickets are released to purchase them.

Atsuko Okatsuka is an award-winning comedian and actress making waves across the globe with her one-of-a-kind humor, boundless energy, and infectious charm. Her highly anticipated second stand-up special, FATHER, recently premiered on Hulu and internationally on Disney+. It quickly occupied the top ten on the streamer and had multiple clips go viral, making it one of the most talked about specials to debut on the Hularious brand. Following the success of FATHER she recently embarked on The Big Bowl tour which will hit multiple cities across America.
