REDCAT and Los Angeles Contemporary Archive (LACA) present a workshop on July 13, as part of Kameelah Janan Rasheed’s exhibition, i want to climb inside every word and lick the salty neck of each letter on view at REDCAT until August 11th.
In the workshop hosted by LACA, participants will write in the shape of their surroundings, building language inflected by objects, architectures, their environments, and their anecdotal memory of the past.
The workshop is created for people with varying relationships to writing, poetry, archiving and art who are looking to experiment with writing fragments, mood, games, and ephemera from your own archive. Participants will work collaboratively to create a one page book of scores that they will each take home.
The workshop will take place at LACA (709 N. Hill Street, #104-108).
