About

Recognized as one of the most important musicians, educators, and creative thinkers of the past 50 years, Anthony Braxton has been widely celebrated for his revolutionary work, drawing from sources as disparate as John Coltrane, Karlheinz Stockhausen, and 12th-century mystic Hildegard von Bingen. In this wide-ranging celebration of his work (co-produced and curated by his former student and frequent collaborator Steve Lehman), a multi-generational collection of the most celebrated musicians in and around Los Angeles pay tribute to Braxton’s remarkable contribution to the fields of improvisation and contemporary composition. Featured performers include Mark Dresser, Myka 9, Jonathan Finlayson, Mark Turner, David Rosenboom, Vicki Ray, Jonathan Pinson, Tim Feeney, The CalArts Percussion Ensemble, Nick Deyoe, The Ensemble, Paul Cornish, and Vinny Golia.
